I gave birth in late summer 2019 and I used flower essences throughout pregnancy and birth. My little guy even had some on his first day of life!
Flower essences are gentle, safe, and effective, which makes them perfect for these stages of life.

If you have a pregnant person in your life, here are 5 Bach flower essences you might consider.
- Mimulus for fear of known things.
This could be a fear of pain in birth, fear of the midwife or doctor not arriving in time, fear of a bad outcome or things going sideways, etc. I used this from the get-go in my pregnancy. Amazingly, I had great success with it for my relentless, all-day morning sickness. This was one of the only supports that helped (and I tried EVERYTHING from diet to herbs to acupressure, etc.).
- Aspen, which is often used with Mimulus, is for vague fears or general apprehension.
So, if the future parents can’t put a name to what they’re afraid of or anxious about, this is one to consider.
- Impatiens for impatience, nervousness or anxiety that the experience is moving too slowly.
Perhaps the birthing process isn’t progressing? Or the pregnancy is continuing, and baby isn’t here yet. Especially after the date when care providers start to become more insistent about possible induction methods.
- Walnut for changing conditions or circumstances.
Known as a transitions remedy, it’s great for mom and baby. It was in the blend I gave my little guy once he arrived Earth side. This is terrific to take postpartum as mom and the rest of the family realize that life will never again be the same!
- Star of Bethlehem, a remedy for comfort, especially if the birth is stressful or traumatic in any way.
Another excellent essence for both mom and babe… and this can be helpful whether the birth is recent or not!
The Rescue Remedy blend is also a must-have in every birthing kit, wallet or purse.
